306: Foreverland: The Story of the Barton Creek Greenbelt

Austin’s Barton Creek Greenbelt is one of the city’s most beloved natural spaces, but the story of how it came to exist is one most Austinites have never heard. Foreverland chronicles the remarkable early 1990s effort by a small group of citizens — Beverly Griffith, Butch Smith, Ted Siff, and George Cofer — to secure the Barton Creek Wilderness Park, a hard-won stretch of land that became the foundation for decades of continued conservation work across the city.
