About UsThe Texas Public Broadcasting Association was first incorporated on August 11, 1982. The association was formed to increase public awareness, develop member cooperative efforts and to promote the funding and general well-being of public broadcasting for the benefit of all Texans.
The Texas PBS Stations have worked together since that time on a number of statewide initiatives, from education projects to raising funds, so that all Texas stations could convert to federally-required digital broadcast technology.
Public television, through its community-based programming and services, continues to be a unifying force in Texas culture, a lens through which we can view and understand our diverse nation and world. In 2009 -- for the sixth consecutive year -- the Roper Media poll shows that Americans view PBS stations as the most trusted organizations among all nationally known institutions.
